Pitching Our Vision

Recently Lou and I had the opportunity to propose building a retreat and permacutlure learning center. This opportunity is very rare and we are both alive with the possibilities. For us this would be the first step towards building our dream of a self sustainable off grid community.

Our trip to Acapulco

We were in Mexico City from July 13th to August 5th of this year.  If you've been seeing Ivee's photo albums on facebook, you've seen all the places we went to while there: Teotihuacan, the protests, Acapulco, the crafts market, and much more.  The video here is a little bit of our trip to Acapulco.  We really enjoyed that weekend with Lou's dad, his niece and sister-in-law.  We tried a lot of different and new foods, had fun swimming in the bay and even took a ride on the banana boat!

Update from Colorado: We're off to Mexico!

This time we made a video a couple of days before leaving for Mexico City.  It had been a while since we communicated much, so we thought it would be a good opportunity to update everybody on what we've been up to and where we're planning to go next.  This video was done at Jamie's dad's house, where we'd been staying for a couple of weeks.  We don't know where we will be going, but we know we are in good hands!

Saying goodbye is never easy to do!

Lou and I saying goodbye to the garden! It was a great project that we both can't wait to do again.

What Happened to Us and Our Food? (On the movie Food,Inc.)

Anyone ever seen the movie called Food, Inc? Can't say that I didn't think that it was as bad as it really is.... But it's bad!!!! I say day in and day out the corporations are the main problem that we have in our world today for they have the money to grease the gears of legislation. Well I now know a HUGE part of that corporate greed is ran by the food industry, with good old Monsanto at the top of the food chain. We are literally fed waste, E coli and salmonella issues come from their production lines, our heath issues come from their products, and their choices.

Our Garden

So we both had the new experience of starting our own garden from scratch this year. What an experience it has been too! It's really hard work, however its a wonderful time to use to reflect on life, the Earth, and just how things are. We both have spent countless hours working side by side and watched something that went from an idea into full fruition! We both really needed to see that we could do it.

We know...

Hey there!

We're still out here, just been a bit out of touch with our project lately. But the gears have been turning once again....

It's Been Awhile

We know it has been awhile since we have really done anything towards going off grid. Lou and I are starting to realize that we have a few more things in life to work on before we get to that stage. We also are slowing down on going to Baja because many of our friends are that are interested in our project are wanting to stay in the US.

Moving Along the Path...

So we have been pretty quite lately because we have been really putting our efforts forth into the Worldwide Peace Petition. But we also are keeping our dream in mind. We have the garden going on an excellent path and are getting ready to start some Heirloom Tomato Seeds our friend Toni sent us. We are really excited about fresh produce from the garden. We did get delayed in planting the cabbage because the weather hasn't been as nice as it has been, but that's the time of year we are in.

What in the world are we doing?!?

Over the past month Lou and I are coming to realize that starting up our off-grid project may have to be put on hold until we can figure out a way of proceeding here in the United States with our project. We are now working on talking about the issues that people don’t want to discuss due to being taboo or just simply rejected by the way we think as a whole.
